You can create a Fred account as either a Researcher or a Tester.
  • Researcher accounts are for people who create workspaces, run studies, analyze evidence, and manage research work.
  • Tester accounts are for participants who join studies, complete tasks, and take part in feedback sessions.

Email and password

  1. Go to Fred’s homepage and click Get Started in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose whether to sign up as a Researcher or as a Tester.
  3. Fill in your details and click the account creation button for the selected account type.
  4. Check your inbox for a verification email and follow the link inside.
  5. Once verified, you can log in and continue with the selected account path.

OAuth (Google)

Click the Google sign-in option on the sign-up page. This creates your account instantly — no email verification needed.

Free trial

Researcher accounts start with a 15-day free trial. During signup, choose the plan path you want to try. When the trial ends, billing follows the plan and billing cadence selected during signup unless you cancel before the trial expires. Tester accounts do not require a paid plan or billing setup.
