# What is Fred?

> Fred is the user research management platform for UX researchers.

Fred helps you design research studies, collect participant responses, and turn raw data into actionable insights — all in one place. Whether you're running a quick 5-second test or a full moderated usability session, Fred gives you the tools to understand your users.

## How Fred works

Fred organizes your research around three building blocks:
