# Create an account

> Sign up for Fred and start your free trial.

## Sign up

There are two ways to create a Fred account.

### Email and password

1. Go to Fred's homepage and click **Get Started** in the top-right corner.
2. Select **Sign up as a Researcher**.
3. Fill in your details and click **Create account as a Researcher**.
4. Check your inbox for a verification email and follow the link inside.
5. Once verified, you can log in and start using Fred.

### OAuth (Google)

Click the Google sign-in option on the sign-up page. This creates your account instantly — no email verification needed.

## Free trial

Every new account starts with a one-month free trial of the Agency plan, which gives you access to all features. When the trial ends, you can choose to subscribe to the Agency plan or switch to a different plan.
